HAND OVER OF 104 ULTRA MODERN STUDENTS HOSTELS 

Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State, has taken delivery of two gigantic ultra-modern male and female hostels built by the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund). The hostels are part of the TETFund special intervention projects of 2020 aimed at bridging the accommodation gap in the institution.

The 104-capacity hostels were built for the students of Federal Polytechnic, Oko to ease the burden of accommodation for students residing outside the polytechnic campus.

Speaking during the official handover to the polytechnic management, the Rector, Engr. Dr. Francisca Nwafulugo noted that the well-furnished students hostels will enable the students to focus on their academic work and also, provide a serene and relaxed environment that will eliminate unnecessary stress from the students.

She therefore commended the contractors; Consolidated Shelter Services Nigeria Limited and Snoufcof Company Limited for their ingenuity in the construction of both the male and female hostels respectively.

The Rector also commended the project consultant, Arc. Aloysius Adindu Nwalozie for ensuring that the projects turned out well.

She also hinted that the two hostels will be among the projects expected to be commissioned soon by the Honourable Minister of Education, Prof. Tahir Mamman, adding that the projects by TETFund  is a clear demonstration of the Federal Government commitment to ensuring quality education in the institution. Earlier, the TETFund director in the institution, Dr. Chioma Awuzie while appreciating all stakeholders for ensuring timely completion of the project attributed the growth and development of the institution to the cooperation of all that are involved.

The entire management team of the polytechnic, the consultant, union leaders, staff and students of the institution were present during the official handover of the hostels.
